Stephen B. Smith, CPCU
Stephen is Chief Operating Officer of Soules Insurance. Stephen’s experience within the insurance industry in Texas covers 33 years in roles such as President of Summit Global and also President of HUB International. His background in commercial and personal insurance is expansive and he has served on agency councils for CNA, Liberty Mutual, AIG, Hartford and Texas Mutual.
Stephen is a graduate of Texas A&M University with a degree in Economics/Finance. Before his insurance career, Stephen was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Army serving in Germany and Fort Hood. He is a 2018 graduate of Leadership Montgomery County.
John C. Husbands, CIC, CLTC
John C. Husbands, CIC, CLTC joined Soules Insurance in 1998. A lifetime resident of Conroe, he has over 30 years of experience in the insurance and financial field. He prides himself as an Estate and Business Succession Specialist who cares for, integrates, and maintains a Business Owners Personal Estate Plan with their Corporate Risk Management and Business Plan. His practice includes Commercial Insurance, Personal Insurance, Group Benefits, and Individual Life and Health. He is dual certified as a Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) and Certified Long Term Care Specialist (CLTC). He received his Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from The University of Texas in Austin in 1982.
John has an extensive history of service to the community including being a 10 year (3 term) Trustee of the Conroe Independent School District, Past Chairman and Board Member of Montgomery County Youth Services, Montgomery County United Way, Education for Tomorrow Alliance, Leadership Montgomery County, LMC Alumni Association, Young Life Committee, Montgomery County Texas Ex-Student Association, Academy of Science and Technology Advisory Board, Montgomery County Assistance League Advisory Board. He is a Past President of The Rotary Club of Conroe, a Lifetime Member of the Montgomery County Fair Association, a Special Commissioner for Montgomery County, and a Deacon at First Baptist Church.
He and his wife LuAnne live in Conroe and have three grown daughters, Helen, Julia, and Susanna.
Kammie Enloe came to Soules as a CSR in 1989. Her aptitude for the business was obvious, and she easily assumed the role of personal lines supervisor and eventually operations manager. Kammie’s knowledge of insurance coupled with her aptitude for the technology has made her an invaluable asset. She is also someone who can inspire the staff to put the customer first, insisting on the attention to detail that carefully matches each client to the insurance coverage needed. Kammie is devoted to her family and her church and is especially committed to her daughter’s high school band activities.
Warner Phelps, MBA, CIC
Warner Phelps joined Soules in 2011. He is responsible for marketing and placement of new business, in addition to account executive responsibilities. Warner serves as 1st Vice President of Conroe Noon Lions Club, and is a two time winner of their Lion of The Year award. He is an elected director for the Conroe Lake Conroe Chamber of Commerce, a proud member of Leadership Montgomery County Class of 2020, serves in leadership for his church and mentors 2 young men through Conroe ISD Project Mentor. Warner is a graduate of Abilene Christian University and Sam Houston State University. His expertise with both insurance and technology makes him a great support for both our agents and account managers. He lives with his wife and son in Conroe.
Randy Stephens, CBC
Randy joined Soules in 1999. A lifetime resident of Montgomery County, he has over 25 years of combined experience in the securities and insurance industry. Randy graduated from Sam Houston State University with a Bachelor in Business Administration and holds the Certified Benefits Consultant designation, and is a Leadership Montgomery County graduate. Randy believes in always treating the customer right and believes every client is his number one priority. He is active in the Conroe Noon Lions Club and Ducks Unlimited and has served in leadership for both. He enjoys almost anything outdoors and enjoys spending time at the family farm. He is most proud of his two children, both of whom are graduates of Texas A&M University and has fond memories of coaching their baseball and softball teams.
Connie Trotter, CBC
Connie is your trusted advisor for navigating the confusing maze of Obamacare. She is a Certified Benefits Consultant with 30 years of experience selling benefits to groups, employees and individuals. Connie joined Soules in 1996 after beginning her career in Louisiana. In that time, she has worked with many different organizations including non-profits and small to large businesses, helping them select and provide benefits for their employees in the form of health, vision, dental and life insurance. Connie has volunteered on many different PTO and booster clubs for her two children as they made their way through Conroe lSD schools and athletic programs. She lives in the Conroe area with her husband Steve, an employee of Entergy for 40 years. Her son is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and her daughter attends Texas Tech University. Connie retired from the agency in May 2021.
Matthew Bottorff, MBA
Matt grew up in southern Indiana and earned his Undergraduate degree in Business from Indiana University. Matt later earned his MBA from Washington University in St Louis. He is currently pursuing the prestigious Certified Insurance Counselor professional designation. In 2003, he and his family moved to Texas through a job relocation. After working in corporate America for 6 years, he opened his own business and led it for another 5 years. Although he switched to a career in insurance and risk management, Matt still appreciates the challenges of owning a business. Matt and his wife have two boys. Their older son is passionate about musical and theatrical arts while the younger is more interested in athletics. Matt currently volunteers his time as a Deacon at his church, Leadership with Boy Scouts of America, Class Act Productions (a local theatre company), and The Woodlands Chamber of Commerce.
Richard Coyle, CLU, AAI
Richard "Dick" Coyle, a native of Schenectady, NY, grew up in the Magnolia area and graduated from Conroe High School. He attended Texas A&M before becoming a helicopter pilot in the US Army. He served in Viet Nam in 1967-68 and was later an instrument instructor at Ft. Rucker, Alabama, before returning to Montgomery County and joining Soules Insurance. Dick purchased an interest in the agency in 1972 and became its owner in 1983.
Dick received his Chartered Life Underwriter designation in 1975 and Accredited Advisor in Insurance in 1985. He has extensive experience in writing group life and health as well as property and casualty coverage for both personal and commercial customers. He and the agency's employees take pride in continuing education and achieving professional designations that help them to better serve their customers as a result, many of their clients have been with the agency for many years.
Dick's involvement in the growth of our community has included serving as Fund Drive Chair and President of the Montgomery County United Way, as an 11 year board member of MUD 46, on the board of the Joint Powers Agency of The Woodlands, and the HGAC. For several years, he acted as trustee for the University of the Americas and also acted as a trustee for the University of the Americas Foundation. He is a past president of the Conroe Rotary Club Where he has been a member for the past 33 years. He and his wife Mary Margaret have two grown children and five grandchildren.
Mr. Coyle retired from the agency in 2017. Dick passed away on June 2020, He will be remembered and missed. In our Loving memory Richard "Dick" Coyle.
