On May 16th, a “call to action” meeting was organized by a task force of more than a dozen community groups concerned about the rising rates of suicides and suicide attempts in Montgomery County.
Representatives from more than 100 different agencies — school districts, law enforcement, faith groups and nonprofits — showed up to the meeting to contribute to the conversation around behavioral health and suicide prevention by listening to presentations that shared the sobering statistics, risk factors and best prevention methods.
