    Call To Action - Task force looks to battle rising suicide rates in Montgomery County

    On May 16th, a “call to action” meeting was organized by a task force of more than a dozen community groups concerned about the rising rates of suicides and suicide attempts in Montgomery County.

    Representatives from more than 100 different agencies — school districts, law enforcement, faith groups and nonprofits — showed up to the meeting to contribute to the conversation around behavioral health and suicide prevention by listening to presentations that shared the sobering statistics, risk factors and best prevention methods.

    County officials preparing for planned implosion of 11-story office tower

    Montgomery County officials are working with demolition contractors and The Woodlands Township to prepare for a planned demolition project slated to take place over the next 6 weeks, culminating with the implosion of the existing 11-story Timberloch building on the site.
